CT's Quassy wants to see guests' favorite park memories - past and present
Before Quassy Amusement Park and Waterpark opens for its latest season, it's giving guests the chance to share their memories from its over-century-long history.
To celebrate its 118th season, the Middlebury theme park is holding a contest, asking parkgoers to share photos of their favorite memories at the park from over the years, it announced in a news release.
Through March 30, guests can submit photos online in three categories: "Splash Away Bay Memories" (photos from the waterpark from 2023 through 2025), "Amusement Park Moments" (amusement park photos from 2023 through 2025) and "Vintage Quassy" (anytime before 2023 throughout the park's life). Guests are encouraged to look through their old photo albums and submit black-and-white snapshots of early park days for the "Vintage Quassy" category. Visitors can also choose to submit a story behind why the photo was taken.
"We've been lucky to help create memories here for generations, and now we're asking our guests to help us tell that story," park owner George Frantzis wrote in a news release. "There are so many Quassy moments out there you don't realize are going to stick with you. This contest is a fun way to bring those memories back to life as we count down to Opening Day while featuring our guests."
One photo from each category will be chosen to feature on Quassy's new website. The new website is aimed at being easier to navigate, plan visits and buy tickets, according to the news release. It is planned to be launched before the new season begins on April 25. Winners will be contacted on April 1 and will also receive four combo passes to the park for the new season.
Last season, the park opened two new rides: a roller coaster named Crazy 8 and the Aladdin Wave Swinger ride, inspired by the 1992 Disney animated film "Aladdin."
