Gabriel House of Care to celebrate 15 years
Gabriel House of Care is hosting a Masquerade Gala in celebration of 15 years of serving organ transplant recipients and cancer patients and their caretakers. On Saturday, April 11, the event will bring together supporters, current and past recipients of care, donors and their families, and sponsors at the new Hilton on the Mayo Clinic campus for a powerful evening of celebrating, giving and community connection.
“This year is such a special year as we celebrate our 15th anniversary,” said Valerie Callahan, director for Gabriel House of Care. “We are so appreciative of our committed donors and volunteers who have stood with us through these years and helped create this wonderful community of healing for patients and caregivers.”
Leslie Barcadi is the honorary host of the event. After her husband, Jorge Barcardi, received a complex double lung transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, the Bacardis donated funds to lead the construction of a new hospitality house, Gabriel House of Care, as an expression of their deep gratitude to his donor and family, Dr. Cesar Keller and his Mayo transplant team.
