What better day is there to talk about our balls than on International Women's Day?! 🌐🌷

Dion Marketing is on the ball on International Women’s Day

Known as being on the ball coupled with being a woman-owned and women-operated creative, award-winning marketing firm that is focused on empowering talented women to take risks and strive in their careers, we rallied around this slogan and created a social media campaign for Women’s Month by featuring our branded balls along with each team member, what International Women’s Day means to them and why they like working at an all-women firm. Here’s a recap from the team that got great traction, visibility and engagement.

Serena is our Senior Graphic Designer who has been working with DION since 2016. She says, "For me, International Women’s Day is a day to recognize and appreciate all the strong women who have worked so hard in their lives to give us all the rights and privileges that we have today. This is a day to honor and celebrate all the women before me who have helped pave the way to let women today be able to do whatever they dream of in life. #IWD is also a day to celebrate all the strong, compassionate, uplifting & inspiring women in my daily life who have helped build me up and get me to where I am today. I enjoy working in a women-operated marketing firm for many reasons, but one of my favorite things about working with an all-women team is being able to let my creativity run wild! When bouncing around ideas, I am always impressed with the team’s ability to put our ideas together and make some extremely unique campaigns that are not only visually engaging but also emotionally engaging and clever. I feel that a team of all women can connect to an audience on a deeper level of emotional understanding, which helps us reach our customer's target audiences.

Eunice is Dion Marketing's project manager.  She explains what International Women’s Day means to her.  "It's a time to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and envision what there is for the future where every woman can have their voice heard and valued. It symbolizes a day of honoring the achievements and contributions of women in various fields. This is also a day to celebrate all the amazing women around me who have helped me be the strong woman I am today!

She continues, "What I like about working at this women-operated marketing firm is the opportunity to reach my full potential in the work setting. I have the encouragement of my team and am able to express my thoughts, ideas, and creativity without judgment. Overall, I love the positive environment to help our team become the dream team!

"International Women's Day is not only a day to celebrate the accomplishments of women worldwide, but it’s also a chance to reflect on the journey that got us here," explains Brinna, graphic designer for Dion Marketing.  "For a long time, women were not afforded the same opportunities as men, and I feel very fortunate to be living in an age where women are being recognized for their achievements."  When it comes to working at Dion Marketing, an all-women firm, she continues, "Every day feels like I get to work with family and it’s the best! Every one of us has our own talents and skills. I feel like I learn something new every day, and I'm also not afraid to ask questions, knowing that they will be answered with patience and a willingness to teach. We laugh and have fun together, but we also know when it’s time to buckle down and get the job done. There is no shortage of communication between us and it helps the company operate in a way that works well for us and our clients!

For Madison, our marketing coordinator and newest member of the DION team, International Women's Day makes her feel empowered. She says, "I am thankful for the progress women have made. The day also acts as a reminder that I can positively impact my community and celebrate the accomplishments made by women everywhere." She likes working at an all-women marketing firm and says, "I am inspired by the confident women in leadership. It is an honor that I am surrounded by many powerful women and they motivate me to reach my full potential."

Sloan is an account manager at DION and says "International Women's Day signifies the progress women have made in various spaces like the workplace, government, sports, and other institutions. It highlights the journey women have undergone to secure their rightful place in these areas, where we once faced barriers. IWD is an opportunity to empower women and inspire the next generation by showing them that they can do anything they set their minds to." Sloan thinks that working in an all-women-operated marketing firm brings a sense of emotional intelligence and understanding among coworkers. "At DION, there's recognition of the importance of both work and personal life, fostering a better work-life balance.  It allows individuals to come to work fully prepared to tackle tasks while also being acknowledged for the significance of our personal lives and families."

Working in a women-operated marketing firm allows me to help foster the growth of others," explains Kellee, DION's senior account director. "It empowers me to strive to continue to get better and allows me to thrive professionally. At Dion Marketing, we have such a positive environment where anyone can express their ideas or feelings without hesitation."

For Kellee, International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions from women across the globe.  "I'm inspired by women whose efforts have paved the way for me to have a successful career in a field that I am passionate about," she continued. "It’s a day to think about all of the amazing women in our lives including all of my wonderful coworkers at Dion Marketing!"

Here is what Julie says about International Women’s Day, "It's a day to honor and celebrate the achievements of women today and throughout history, despite any challenges they may have faced. Growing up during Generation X, it was instilled in me to become an independent, career-focused businesswoman. Since then, I have learned from my younger staff the importance of supporting women in the workplace and how rallying behind each other can create a better outcome personally and professionally." When it comes to leading a women-operated marketing firm she continues, "I like being able to provide career opportunities for the team so they can thrive in their roles. Maintaining a healthy work/life balance has always been important to me, and that is something I can offer the team at Dion Marketing. I love seeing how they wholeheartedly support all the other women in the workplace."
